Activities in our tuscan farm: farmhouse with playground for children, picnic area, swimming pool and horses among tuscan hills
The farm holiday is not borng at all. It is exciting for the oldest ones, because it remembers the holiday of their own chilhood, and it is interesting for the oppurtunity to visit places that offer much in terms of landscape and culture. It is funny for children because they can move freely, dive into a swimming pool surrounded by nature, spend time with animals and discover a different kind of lifestyle.
It is healthy and enjoyable for everyone, for the pristine environment that surrounds us, for the simple and natural food, for the warm family welcome.
In summer you can relax in the garden, in the panoramic sun terrace, or immerse yourself in the blue pool after a day of hiking.
The swimming pool of 8m x 16m, with Roman steps and tub, is located in a separate and quiet area. It is equipped with a large sun terrace which overlooks the beautiful valley of the river Sovara.
Playground for children and picnic
The playground for children is located in a separate and shaded area, where is available to costumers a large table for a picnic with the whole family (you can also take advantage of the grill). Our horses Stella, Pegasus and Pascal will accompany you, and “Her Majesty” Bebe, our sweet dog, will joyfully support you if you decide to take a walk in the adjacent woods or between fields of sunflowers or wheat.
The most dynamic hikers can walk from our farm for walking tours in the Tuscan hills, retracing part of the Way of St. Francis in his path from La Verna to Assisi (see Religious tour).
A less demanting, but equally fascinating, path runs the floor in Val Sovara following the bank of the torrent, along which it is not difficult to meet players of “Ruzzola”, an old popular game. With this route you can reach Pieve di Sovara, beautiful pre-Romanesque church, and the old town of Anghiari
The same paths are available in mountain bikes. It is possible to rent bikes in the neighborhood.
…and during autumn or winter…
Even the cold season has its own charm in the Tiber Valley: when nature is dormant, the crackling embers glow and the chimneys smoke. It is the time of Roasted chestnuts, a glass of homemade wine and a good book in front of fireplace, a traditional dinner in a rustic and cozy setting.
All this without sacrificing the visits to museums, historical and cultural tours, or shopping in craft shops, antiques and furniture restoration …and of course “food and wine routes”.
